Dr Serrano's autobiography documents his contribution to research, as well as his results in the application of chemistry and biology to skin care, his way of keeping himself up to date through his empirical work and permanent participation in international forums, his medical practice in his clinic and the introduction of innovative and proven products on the market, without forgetting his personal trajectory. A well-deserved which acknowledges the work of someone who will leave their mark for posterity.
I come from a family of doctors: my grandfather had a pharmacy in Bucaramanga, Colombia, where I was born; my father was a family doctor and obstetrician-gynaecologist in Bucaramanga and Barranquilla, and later trained as a surgeon in Atlanta, United States. Four of my six siblings work in the health field in the United States and Spain; several cousins also, in different parts of the world. Of my six children, four study and work in health-related subjects, and one of my granddaughters told me that she wants to study medicine. For me, as for my ancestors and descendants, medicine is the most noble and beautiful profession in the world, not only because it allows us to cure, but also because it consists of serving and helping other people.
